"The View" execs are rumored to be desperately recruiting Gwyneth Paltrow as a panelist in hopes of saving the struggling talk show.

According to RadarOnline, network officials have presented Paltrow with a "seven-figure offer" to join the long running talk show once anchored by news industry legend Barbara Walters. Word is Paltrow's decision could ultimately decide the fate of once wildly popular gabfest.

"If Gwyneth doesn't accept, there's every chance the show will be axed," said a source. "They're in real trouble and everyone on that panel right now are all second and third choices."

Rumors are Chelsea Clinton and Laura Bush have already turned down big money offers to join Whoopi Goldberg and company. Execs are now "praying" that Paltrow will be different.

"The big fear is that Gwyneth won't want to touch the cursed show either," a source added. "Barring a miracle or a surprise talent coming aboard, this could be the show's final season."

As the show has continued to struggle this season, there have been reports that the legendary Walters was even considering a return, though it apparently would be against the advice of some of those in the industry.

"That ship has sailed," said longtime associate and current "The Talk" host Julie Chen. "No One can turn it around."

Show officials tried shaking things up by recently bringing back former stalwart Joy Behar as a moderator.

"I originally said I wasn't interested in returning but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse," she said, according to Page Six. "It wasn't for financial reasons. A lot of people in the press made it sound like it was about money. It's more about the way the show is going and the way I saw myself fitting in."

Raven-Symone also joined the panel this season, but recently was the target of an online petition signed by thousands of protesters demanding that she be dropped.
