EA has officially confirmed "EA Sports UFC 2," the sequel to the developer's first foray into the mixed martial arts genre back in June 2014.

The California-based gaming studio took to Twitter to confirm that it has been working on the new MMA simulator and that further details will be shared on Nov. 10. The tweet reads, "The Wait is Finally Over! Tune in tomorrow."

Apart from that, no other juicy information regarding the upcoming combat game were revealed. There were also no hints as to what fans will be learning about on Tuesday.

In the meantime, those wanting to acquaint themselves to the genre should know that "EA Sports UFC" is a mixed martial arts video game developed by Electronic Arts and SkyBox Labs, Bloody Elbow reported.

Before the game launched last summer, a beta version was released featuring former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson as the two playable test characters. Last year's title was the first UFC-inspired game since THQ sold the license to EA back in 2012.

The game garnered mixed reviews. Some of the praises were attributed to its extra content including additional fighters and other post releases. The game also received quite a few patches which fans openly welcomed.

"EA Sports UFC looks the part to a tee, and its exhaustive list of moves and techniques represent the complex nature of the sport well. But knowing that each second could be your fighter's last is what gives weight and drama to mixed martial arts, and without that, these bouts fall flat," said Vince Ingenito of IGN.

The renowned video game reviewer appreciated EA Sports and SkyBox Labs' attention to detail. However, he explained that top-class graphics can't stand in for the game's apparent lack of danger and excitement that is closely associated with the real sport.

Barring the surprise launch of "EA Sports UFC 2" this year, it seems the "UFC" games won't be an annual affair, like other EA sports games. Reports about the upcoming combat game are relatively new. The title wasn't even mentioned in EA's latest investors report, strengthening the belief that the game wouldn't be release in time for the holidays.

That said, further details are coming shortly, meaning "UFC" fans only have to wait for a little while longer.
