At the GQ Mexico Men of the Year awards on Nov. 4, actress Ana Brenda Contreras cleared up rumors that she and singer Carlos Rivera are dating.

According to People en Español, the actress revealed that she and Rivera, whom she has been linked to since they worked on a music video together, are just friends and are not romantically involved.

"We laugh a lot and nothing else, nothing in terms of being partners or anything. We laugh," the actress said about the rumors. "We say, 'You see?' and we sent each other notes and everything. It's a joke."

The actress also revealed that she is very happy with the success of the video, "Cómo Pagarte," which Rivera took part in.

"Yesterday they told me that it had I don't know how many millions of views. So I am very happy," she said. "The truth is that [Carlos] is super talented. I am a big fan of his, first of all, and following that we became great friends."

This isn't the first time that Contreras has had to clear up relationship rumors with someone she's worked with. The 28-year-old actress was similarly linked to her "Lo Imperdonable" co-star Ivan Sánchez.

On Sept. 1, Contreras shut down rumors of a romantic relationship between her and Sánchez, who is married to Elia Galera.

The actress explained that she and Sánchez were frustrated that their popular performances in the successful telenovela were attributed to a scandalous relationship, instead of their talents and good chemistry, reported El Cinco.

"I know that this story is constantly being repeated," the actress said in reference to the speculation. "Am I or am I not with him because we are always spotted together? I'm not interested in clarifying anything and I just let them keep talking."
