After all the speculation surrounding Flappy Bird, it looks like the popular game is going to make its way back to app stores after all.

The game's creator, Dong Nguyen, reportedly said that he would consider bringing Flappy Bird back to app stores, but now that looks confirmed. Nguyen said on Twitter this past week that he indeed plans to bring the game back, but just not right away.

Despite the fact that the app was removed from app stores weeks ago, Flappy Bird remains one of the most popular games. People who already had the game could continue playing it but those who were looking to acquire it were out of luck after it was pulled from app stores.

Nguyen's decision to pull the app had to do with the overwhelming reaction people had to the game; some people contacted him complaining that Flappy Bird was too addictive.

Since then, there have been a number of people who have had enough time to find hacks to the original game via an iOS 7 jailbreak option, but even more people have decided to spin the game off entirely. This has been helpful both in terms of hacks and also availability of the game since it can still be acquired on the jailbreak.

In the days following the removal of Flappy Bird from app stores, all sorts of similarly-titled games emerged onto the scene. In fact, there have been so many similar games released that it may take Flappy Bird a while to get back up on the charts. If the improvements are as good as they are rumored to be, however, it could make the game even more popular than it was in the first place.
