The new Marvel series coming to Netflix this month, "Jessica Jones," just dropped the final trailer for the upcoming show.

According to Comic Book, the trailer serves as a bookend for the story to come and a way for fans to truly see what the show is going to be about in all its gritty glory. It features the title character, played by Krysten Ritter, staving off memories of a disgraced past with hopes of redemption.

Jones appears to be conflicted, while at the same time perfectly at peace with herself. She enjoys her grungy lifestyle, carrying out missions as a superhero detective for hire at her own agency, Alias Investigations.

The trailer also shows Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and his budding relationship with Jones. The two are shown having quick and witty conversations, as their rapport strays from professional to borderline romantic.

The appearance of Kilgrave (David Tennant), otherwise known as The Purple Man in the comic book series, gives the new show a sense of direction, as he engages with Jones in ways that are downright lurid.

The villain possesses the power of mind over matter, though not in a metaphorical sense. He can force his own will on other people just by telling them what to do. His victims are powerless to deny him, and the trailer reveals that Jones' fraught past was caused by Kilgrave.

"Jessica Jones" is the second of four total series coming to Netflix from the Marvel brand. The series started with "Daredevil," and this offering will soon be followed up with a "Luke Cage" series of its own. The shows will culminate with the release of "The Defenders" on the streaming platform.

"Jessica Jones" will be released on Netflix on Nov. 20. Watch the trailer below.
