Manny Pacquiao claimed that there is an ongoing negotiation for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, but the undefeated boxing champion denied that he is interested in facing his nemesis again.

Pacquiao recently said in a Facebook Q&A session that he has yet to pick his opponent for his next fight, but added that a rematch with Mayweather is their top priority. In fact, he claimed they are in talks with Mayweather's camp.

"I don't know yet who will be my opponent next, but we're still negotiating right now about the rematch with Floyd Mayweather," Pacquiao said. "Hoping for that."

Mayweather told Fighthype that has been hearing about the rumored rematch, but the 49-0 fighter made it clear that he will not come out of retirement just to face the Filipino boxing icon. The Grand Rapids native announced his retirement after his win against Andre Berto in September, which came four months after defeating Pacquiao.

Mayweather insisted that he sees no reason for a rematch because he ran away with a convincing victory during their record-setting fight in May. The 38-year-old scored a unanimous decision win against Pacquiao with the judges scoring the bout 120-108, 118-110 and 117-111.

"Once again, I dissected this fighter, the so-called best fighter of our generation," Mayweather said, referring to Pacquiao. "I dissected him; probably was 10 to 2, really 11 to 1, but it's safe to say 10 to 2. Mayweather is so boring, he's this, and he's that!' I'm boring enough to do the biggest and the best numbers in pay-per-view history."

The former pound-for-pound king believes that Pacquiao is just using his name to sell his upcoming fights.

"What they're doing is this, once again, piggybacking off my name to sell pay-per-view numbers when he do go out there and fight again," Mayweather added.

Pacquiao, who holds a 57-6-2 record with 38 knockout victories, has not fought since losing to Mayweather. The 36-year-old underwent shoulder surgery, which prevented him from fighting until early next year.

Recent reports indicated that Pacquiao will make his comeback fight in the first quarter of 2016. He is continuously being linked to a showdown with Terence Crawford and former sparring mate Amir Khan.

Pacquiao's comeback fight next year could also be his farewell fight, as he is set to run for a Senate seat in the Philippines. Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum said that Pacquiao will not fight again if he wins in the elections next year.
