An explosively funny trailer has been released for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2," the sequel to the sleeper hit indie film from 2002.

According to E! News, the sequel film is set to raise the glasses again. A new wedding takes place, but fans may be surprised who it is for.

In the new film, Toula (Nia Vardalos) has been happily married to Ian (John Corbett) for over a decade, and they have a teenage daughter who has a few eccentricities of her own. But it's not their daughter who is in need of a quick ceremony.

Can someone say "Windex?"

That's right. Toula's parents have been living in sin for the past several decades technically never having been married. The mistake is not their fault because they thought they were wed. It turns out that the priest never signed their marriage license.

"I'm a hippy," Toula's mother gleefully says in the trailer.

So now, Toula and Ian have to face two major obstacles coming their way. First, they have to get their parents married, for real this time.

Second, they need to reconcile with their daughter, who is attempting to flee her family by applying to colleges far away. The family has been crowding the teen girl just as they did to Toula when she was younger. They are also embarrassing her to no end, which in turn, makes her want to attend a college as far from her hometown as possible.

Vardalos, who penned the script for the original, also wrote the screenplay for the sequel film. She said that it took her a while to produce this new film because she only wanted to write about things she personally knew about, meaning she drew the new film from her own experience as a mother.
