Just days after everyone was jumping to conclusions about Apple wiping out the iOS 7 jailbreak forever, the hackers have turned the tables once again.

Although the well-known Evad3rs iOS hacking group has not yet made any announcements on Twitter or on the Evasi0n website, news reports are circulating regarding a video that is said to contain footage of a jailbroken iPhone 4 operating on iOS 7.1. This video was posted by winocm, a self-proclaimed programmer who tweeted the link to the YouTube clip.

The silence from the Evad3rs could mean that the group is working on their own jailbreak that could cover all phones rather than just the iPhone 4. The general consensus is that the newer phones are more difficult to jailbreak than the older ones, thanks to additional security features introduced by Apple.

The news marks a sharp turn in the discourse surrounding the iOS 7 jailbreak, but not a surprising one in the slightest. Developers have been known to be quick to crack the code once Apple comes through with updates, but a sometimes there is a longer delay. This was the case with the original launch of iOS 7 in September when the new iPhones were released. It took the Evad3rs several months to finally release the iOS 7 jailbreak, which was unveiled in the days leading up to Christmas of 2013.

What do you think about the iOS 7 jailbreak so far? Do you think the Evad3rs or other hackers will come through with a timely release once iOS 8 is released, or do you expect a delay like we saw with iOS 7? Furthermore, do you think Apple will finally tighten up security to the point where the hackers will be unable to jailbreak? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
