Even though a lot of people are less than thrilled about Vogue featuring Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, there is one person who is very happy about the shoot: Anna Wintour, the power editrix who ultimately put the rapper and the Keeping up with the Kardashians star on the cover!

According to CBS News, the "808's and Heartbreaks" rapper reportedly begged Wintour to put his beloved on the cover... a claim which Wintour vehemently denies. (Who can really "beg" Anna Wintour to do anything anyway?) "My opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue's cover. He did nothing of the sort," she said. "The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't true."

Now, this isn't to say that West didn't do his fair share of campaigning for Kim -- who is the mother of his 9-month-old daughter, North, who was prominently featured in the behind-the-scenes video of the Vogue shoot. According to the South China Morning Times, West went on Ryan Seacrest's show a few months ago to say that "there's no way Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue."

And it's not like the decision didn't meet with some criticism. Notably, Sarah Michelle Gellar tweeted that she was "cancelling her Vogue subscription" in response to the KimYe cover. The "Lord Voldemort" Twitter, as well, that "Kim & Kanye are on the cover of Vogue. Anna Wintour has clearly been confunded." Canadian magazine Flare tweeted that "Hell hath frozen over," and style bloggers Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez said: "This is NOTHING about fashion."

Kardashian, for her part, tweeted that it was a "dream come true" to be on the cover of the iconic magazine. (And how can it not be, really...)
