'Real Housewives of New York,' Bethenny Frankel News: Reality TV Star Blasts Co-stars for Negotiating Raises
Bethenny Frankel, who is rumored to earn $1 million for her appearance on the coming season of "Real Housewives of New York," recently blasted cast mates for reportedly attempting to broker higher salaries for themselves.
"Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered and negotiation is definitely an art form," the Skinnygirl cocktail mogul recently told ET of the controversy between the stars, which has delayed filming on the new season. "I would venture to guess that most these women are not willing to walk away, so it's all a useless exercise in nothing."
The New York Post previously reported LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer are all refusing to shoot any scenes until new deals have been hammered out.
Now comes word that those negotiations could backfire on the actresses. A source told the newspaper Frankel has "a long list of friends" she could tap as potential replacements for her current cast mates.
Frankel is widely thought to have that kind of leverage, given the way the show's ratings have jumped since her return and her rumored close relationship with franchise creator Andy Cohen.
Still, not everything is well with the 45-year-old star. She is still in the midst of a bitter divorce from estranged husband Jason Hoppy that has now been festering for nearly three years.
"I am not divorced, and it's been the worse experience of my life," she said.
Earlier this summer, Hoppy looked into the prospect of suing his ex over her breaking the terms of a confidentiality agreement by talking about the nature of their relationship in a "RHONY" episode.
