‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Just Tied Into Season 1 ‘Murder House’
Fans of "American Horror Story" have known for quite some time now that the "Hotel" installment would in some way link to the first season, "Murder House." The last episode just revealed how that happened.
According to TV Guide, the connection was revealed in the last episode, but it was not during the same time period that the show took place in. Instead of being in modern times, it connected back in 1926 when the Countess (Lady Gaga), known at the time as Mrs. Johnson, came to the "Murder House" seeking an abortion from the mad doctor Charles Montgomery (Matt Ross).
Fans may remember the character from the flashback sequences during Season 1 as being the man who built the house and held secret experiments in the basement. His experiments drove him, his wife and his baby to the brink of bankruptcy and they were forced to run a black market clinic out their basement for women seeking an abortion.
It seemed fitting that she would not only be alive during the time period, given her immortal status, but also to seek out the man in the Murder House to get an abortion for an unwanted child. This could also turn out to be the source of her power in some way, considering there are supposed to be more connections revealed soon.
What's even more shocking about the connection is that the abortion went down with one small hitch -- the baby was born alive and aggressive. She took the baby into her arms and kissed it with delighted splendor. The baby, which turns out to be Bartholomew, was later revealed to be the thing in Room 33.
It also snuck out of the Hotel in John's (Wes Bentley) suitcase and there was a whole situation at home with him trying to shoot it with a shotgun. Bartholomew was then taken back to the Hotel by Alex (Chloe Sevigny) who seemingly used it as an excuse to see Holden.
