'Toy Story 4' Release Date & Cast: Patricia Arquette to Play Big Role in Sequel?
Recent Oscar winning actress Patricia Arquette is reported to be joining the "Toy Story" family for the animation's fourth installment, as per The Wrap.
According to the publication's source, the "Boyhood" actress is has been courted to voice in the movie and should she accept the role, she would reprise a laid back hippie mother. However, a representative from Disney has failed to confirm Arquette's reprisal in the movie.
Arquette being reportedly tapped for the mother role has been a no doubt decision, if ever there is truth for the rumor. The 47-year-old actress is known for her motherly roles, according to a report by ScreenRant, adding that her reprisal as a matriarch will be something that is intriguing.
Further, it was reported that "Toy Story 4" will be directed by John Lasseter and newly slated helmer Josh Cooley. Scribes for the movie will be Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
For the fourth time around, Tom Hanks will reprise his famed role as the cowboy Woody while Tim Allen will play his classic role as the spaceman Buzz Lightyear.
Vulture reports that the story for the next installment is less of a sequel and more of an individual story that revolves about romance and comedy. It was also reported that Pixar president Jim Morris said that for this particular movie, there will be "less interaction for toys and children." For this upcoming installment, Woody and Bo Peep's romance will be featured, including romances of other specific toys.
"It's not a continuation of the end of Toy Story 3. Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story," Morris told the publication.
Also, the publication said that the plot will feature Woody's journey in seizing the shepherdess' heart. Annie Potts will remain to be the voice of Bo Peep in the upcoming animation film.
While there is no doubt that "Toy Story" movies are a huge hit in the silver screen, it was also reported that the bars are setting higher than before, following last sequel's success due to fans' long waiting time for the animated movie.
ScreenRant further notes that it's a lucky thing that the movie will feature another story, rather than it being a sequel since expectations are getting higher. Moreover, the report hoped that the follow up movie can provide satisfaction for viewers, particularly answering questions about the fate of Bo Peep in the last "Toy Story" movie.
"Toy Story 4" is slated to hit theaters on June 2018.
