Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been hinting that he will play a DC Comics character for quite a while. Today, the wrestler-turned-actor shared a little bit more about the upcoming role.

In January, Johnson revealed that he was working with DC Comics for an unidentified 2014 project and teased the idea of playing Green Lantern.

"We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk@ActionTilson," he tweeted. "Funny U say that...TY: @krystal_burt: @ron2smoove I could see Rock playing in DC movies. Gravedigger or John Stewart (JL's Green Lantern.)"

In November, Johnson also uploaded a picture onto his Instagram page with the hashtag "#JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss," in reference to Green Lantern's real name. This heightened speculation that The Rock would play a dark, strong version of the character à la Cartoon Network's Justice League (2001-2004) series.

Today, however, The Rock finally confirmed that he will not be putting on the power ring.

"Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Black Adam are my fav superheroes, but GL's already been made and stamped. #RockTalk," he said via Twitter.

That does not mean the actor won't be slipping on some costume.

"Myself & DC have agreed on a character.. extremely complex, well known (but never played) and a pure BAD ASS MF;) #RockTalk," Johnson teased.

The only problem is we still don't know who this hero is. Some suspect Cyborg, who has dark skin and has gained popularity courtesy of Cartoon Networks' two Teen Titans series.

Others predict that The Rock will play Aquaman, taking a card out of Entourage star Vinny Chase's book.

"[Aquaman is] actually pretty complex, he's never been played before...and who better to shut down any and all jokes about the him standing toe-to-toe with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in the upcoming 'Justice League' movie than The Rock?" MTV suggests.
