After five years of waiting, "Fallout" fans rejoiced when "Fallout 4" was finally released last week and its modding community is very active. Modder Richie Branson created a mod that allows the player to wear David Ortiz's Boston Red Sox Jersey, but the MLB is reportedly upset with the publicity the mod is getting, per The Boston Globe.

"The use of these marks is an infringement of our rights. We plan to enforce those rights," an MLB spokesman said via an email. The spokesman did not detail the action the MLB will be taking, but copyright infringement often leads to contact between the offender and the rights holders that are followed by a cease-and-desist order.

"I'm not trying to sell this counterfeit Red Sox jersey. I'm putting a free Red Sox graphic into a game. I'm not making any money off of it. I'm the little guy. It would be in bad taste for them. I'm not rich enough to even think about taking it to court," Branson said.

The modder revealed that he created the modification for "Fallout 4" to make the game feel more like Boston. The game takes place in post-Apocalyptic Boston, 200 years after a nuclear war that left city filled with mutants. Some of Boston landmarks like Fenway Park, State House, Hatch Memorial Shell, The Boston Public Library and The Boston Common are present in the game.

He also added that he was surprised that the MLB reacted the way they did because mods are often encouraged by game developers has been done for many years. It is a very common practice in the video game world and most players modify a game for non-commercial uses.

The modification that was made by Branson was available via download at Nexus Mods but has since been removed. He also posted a message on Twitter to clarify that his Red Sox mod is not associated with Major League Baseball.

In a report by Forbes, the release of "Fallout 4" also drew the ire of PornHub when they announced that they had a 10 percent drop in their traffic the day the game was released. "Fallout 4" was released last Nov. 10 by Bethesda Game Studios and it's available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, per Wired.
