Charlie Sheen Rumored to Be HIV Positive, Set to Make Announcement on 'Today' Show?
Hollywood star and former "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen is rumored to be HIV positive.
The National Enquirer is reporting the son of legendary actor Martin Sheen has been hiding the secret from all of Hollywood. It is feared the star, once the highest paid actor on television, may have exposed others to the disease, given his notorious reputation as a womanizer.
In the issue set to officially hit newsstands this week, it's also reported the 50-year-old Sheen has already started medication to counteract disease.
TMZ has also reported Sheen is expected to confirm his condition in an interview with the "Today" show's Matt Lauer on Tuesday morning. In a press release, NBC announced Sheen would be making a "revealing personal announcement" during his appearance.
According to Radar Online, Sheen has a long history of womanizing, including sexual relationships with porn stars, strippers and groupies. Over the years, Sheen has boasted of having slept with as many as 500 women.
Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller has previously alleged she feared the father of her twin sons had infected her with the disease. In addition, word is at least four other women have claimed the "Wall Street" actor potentially exposed them to the virus, including a female sex partner he allegedly paid off in a settlement.
"Charlie had sex with multiple partners since learning his HIV status without informing them of his potentially deadly HIV infection," a source told the magazine. Still, reports are Sheen claims he doesn't know how he contacted the disease and "has been tortured" by the thought that his acting prowess will soon be forgotten.
"Charlie's worst fear is that he will be remembered not as a great actor, but as someone who contracted the disease," a source said.
Sheen now faces several active lawsuits from women claiming he was sexually active with them without informing them of his condition.
