The network carrier AT&T revealed it will be launching the Microsoft Windows 10 Lumia 950 this week. The official release date is set for Friday, according to PC World.

Though AT&T is the only carrier supporting Windows 10 Mobile, the Microsoft Lumia 950 deal is not exclusive to the network, the report pointed out. According to its press release, AT&T is the "first U.S. carrier" that will offer the Windows 10 smartphone, thus opening the possibility that the device will also get carrier support from other telecommunications company in the future.

As for the specs of the Lumia 950, the Windows 10 phone boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 paired with a Hexa-core processor with a clock rate of 1800 MHZ. The tech specs list posted on Microsoft Store further noted that it will have a 5.2-inch WQHD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 p and a pixel density of 564 ppi.

The display offers sunlight readability enhancements, automatic brightness control, Lumia color profile and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Moreover, it has a wide viewing angle, an orientation sensor and Microsoft claims that the display is easy to clean.

As for the memory, it has 3 GB RAM and it comes with 32 GB internal storage. Memory expansion is possible via a microSD slot for cards up to 200 GB.

It also features a replaceable 3000 mAH battery with built-in wireless charging and fast-charging features through the Qi standard.

The AT&T Microsoft Lumia 950 will be offered for a total of $600 for an off-contract price. AT&T subscribers can choose to divide that payment through a 30-month payment scheme, only requiring a fee of $19.97 per month. This also comes with an upgrade option at two years, the report from PC World detailed.

Meanwhile, those who will go for the 24-monthly payments need to pay $24.96 each month and the upgrade will be available at 18 months.

A 12-month payment scheme for the Lumia 950 will require $29.95 every month and subscribers will be eligible for an upgrade after one year.

Meanwhile, AT&T has not announced yet whether it will also be carrying the Lumia 950 XL, which, according to Engadget is the slightly bigger, slightly better version of the smartphone.
