Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen better get back to the drawing board because he may have some serious competition.

People have started to speculate whether or not the game will fall to the backburner and get replaced by a new popular game called 2048, which is another simple yet addicting game but with a completely different objective. Users have to pair up tiles of numbers in pursuit of higher numbers, which in turn puts you closer to the goal of reaching 2048.

Interestingly enough, other developers have noticed the game's success and have started to post spinoff games. This is, of course, reminiscient of the way the Flappy Bird frenzy unfolded when new similar games were being released every day.

Nevertheless, Flappy Bird could be back in app stores before we know it. Nguyen told Rolling Stone that he was considering bringing the game back and on Twitter he confirmed this plan. It is expected to come with improvements and changes to build from the previous version, but users can still acquire it via the iOS 7 Jailbreak in the meantime. Furthermore, if you're looking to beat the high score or find a way to cheat your way through with a hack, the iOS 7 Jailbreak option via Cydia is said to make that possible, according to Jailbreak Matrix

What makes Flappy Bird so addicting is the way that users feel confident in their chances to make it through the obstacles before they crash, which only leads to more and more opportunities to beat your own high score.

What do you think about Flappy Bird? Do you think it will fall through the cracks and fade away if Nguyen does not get it back up and running again in the near future? Or will it storm back and become as popular as it was when it was at its height? Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments section located down below.
