"Saturday Night Live" alumni Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are set to come back for an early Christmas treat for their fans, as they are tapped to host the show on Dec. 19.

Arguably the best girl duo to have reprised in several hosting events, Fey and Poehler have recently done several individual appearances for the show since they left. But together, they are certainly a powerhouse, which is why the pals were asked to do the stint together once more.

According to US Weekly, as they present the late show, they will be promoting their new movie, "Sisters." They are expected to do their famed Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton impersonations as well.

Poehler joined the cast in 2001 until 2008 and she has then served on the "Weekend Update" while doing her famous Clinton impersonation.

Meanwhile, Fey started out her "SNL" gig initially as a writer in 1997 and eventually became a part of the "Weekend Update" desk in 2000. She decided to end her late show gig in 2006 to make way for "30 Rock." Since her departure, she still made a few cameo appearances as former Vice presidential candidate, Palin.

While they have made several appearances individually, this will be the first time that the duo will join forces after years of reprieve. Aside from their upcoming movie, the gal pals have been inseparable in hosting stints because of their unbelievable ability to easily crack everyone up.

For three years, Fey and Poehler have presented the Golden Globes award. Next year, Ricky Gervais will replace the comedic duo.

Apart from their highly anticipated impersonations, Fey and Poehler are expected to be joined by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as the night's musical guests.

"Saturday Night Live" will be closing the year with a month-long treat. It is not only Fey and Poehler who were slated to present the show in December. it was also revealed that Ryan Gosling and Chris Hemsworth will do their own hosting gigs in the following weeks.

Entertainment Weekly reports that on Dec. 5, "The Place Beyond The Pines" actor, Gosling, will present the show and its musical guest will be Leon Bridges. For the Dec. 12 episode, "Snow White and the Huntsman" actor, Hemsworth, will then serve as the host as Chance the Rapper will serve as the musical guest.

Gosling's Dec. 5 stint will be his first time for the show while Hemsworth's appearance on the second Saturday of December will be his second since his first time was way back in March.
