Sony boosts their game arsenal with an old favorite slated to make a release in the PlayStation 4: "Valkyria Chronicles."

According to a report from Games Radar, the newest issue of Famitsu revealed that the tactical role-playing series is set for a comeback with a remastered version of the original "Valkyria Chronicles" in PlayStation 4. Even better for the fans, SEGA will also be releasing a brand new game in the series called "Valkyria: Azure Revolution."

Gematsu unveiled more details of the upcoming remake of the SEGA classic. According to the report, the game will feature high-resolution graphics and downloadable content, as well as a demo version of "Valkyria: Azure Revolution." The demo is aimed to get SEGA feedback on the first game in the series since 2011's PSP-exclusive "Valkyria Chronicles 3."

"Azure Revolution," an RPG game, will offer a new storyline for the series; a huge deal for fans of the game who have been waiting for a follow-up for years.

"With the discovery of the azure mineral Ragnite, the powerful Rus Empire achieved rapid industrial development and expanded its territory," the official prologue read. "Jutland, a small country, is economically blockaded by the large country, and advocating 'independence and freedom from colonial rule,' strikes the empire army's base."

Visuals are expected to be "painting-esque," while characters will reportedly include a hero (Amleth) and heroine (Ophelia) positioned on opposite sides of the war. The game will also include a real-time battle system dubbed "LeGION" offering additional "simulation elements."

In the Famitsu interview, director Takeshi Ozawa and chief producer Youichi Simosato revealed more about the upcoming game.

"Initially, we were considering real-time strategy, but we went with an RPG because we think that's what more users will want to play," Ozawa said. "The concept of the battle system and the sensation of the battlefield are the same [as Valkyria Chronicles], but because it's an RPG with simulation elements, you can experience the battlefield through a different perspective."

He added, "You get the feeling that you're taking territory from a major power and expanding your scope. You'll prepare at the base, go out to the field, achieve your objectives, and return to base. It's similar to an RPG where you go into dungeons."

Shimosato teased a treat for the fans saying, "We can't announce it yet, but we're commissioning music from a famous name."

"Valkyria Chronicles Remaster" for PlayStation 4 is set for release on Feb. 10, 2016. "Valkyria: Azure Revolution" for PlayStation 4 will follow in winter 2016.
