According to the latest Taco Bell ad, Ronald McDonald LOVES Taco Bell's new breakfast menu.

In an effort to promote Taco Bell's new breakfast menu that includes the highly anticipated Waffle Taco, the Mexican-inspired food chain has launched a calculated campaign that challenges and pokes fun at its McDonald's competitor.

McDonald's currently ranks on top among fast food breakfast menus with about 25 percent market share, so it is no wonder why Taco Bell has announced that their breakfast campaign will be the biggest in its fifty years in business.

The Taco Bell menu is set to roll out today March 27 at 7 a.m. along with its tongue-in-cheek commercial spot that features 25 Taco Bell endorsers who all go by the name of Ronald McDonald. Despite the irony in the endorser names, the spot includes a disclaimer that the Ronald McDonald's featured in the commercial are in no way affiliated with the actual McDonald's Corporation.

The Taco Bell commercial begins with a clip of each Ronald McDonald biting in to the A.M. Crunchwrap as the voice-over narrator says, "It's not surprising these guys are loving Taco Bell's new Waffle Taco. What is surprising is who they are." The McDonalds then proceed to introduce themselves.

There has yet to be any reaction or comment made by the McDonald's corporation, however the commercial will undoubtedly create controversy and friction between the two chains. Check out the first of many commercials that Taco Bell is set to air during its breakfast campaign here.

The creator behind the Taco Bell commercial series is Interpublic's Deutsch agency in Los Angeles that ends the commercial with "Breakfast anybody can love, even Ronald McDonald."

Taco Bell President Brian Niccol explained the marketing strategy as "... getting people to understand that there's a great alternative to their breakfast routine. We needed marketing that is not going to be taken as your ordinary breakfast menu marketing." In addition to the commercials, Taco Bell has implemented a number of marketing tactics to include Instagram, Twitter, and even a cell phone giveaway.
