Jennifer Aniston is listed in a San Diego County Medical Examiner's report as someone connected to the drug-related death of a friend who recently accompanied the actress on her honeymoon with new husband Justin Theroux.

Radar Online reports authorities have launched an official investigation, after Carmel Musgrove died from a combination of drowning and drug and alcohol intake, while vacationing with the newlyweds and other celebrity friends on the French Polynesian island of Bora Bora.

The 28-year-old Musgrove was an assistant to powerful Hollywood producer Joel Silver, who has worked on such films as "Lethal Weapon" and "The Matrix."

"Now Jen's beautiful memories of her honeymoon are turning into a horror," a source said. "The authorities are trying to determine where the drugs her friend consumed before her death came from."

The 46-year-old former "Friends" star and Theroux, two years her junior, were wed in a top secret ceremony at her Bel-Air estate back in early August. The nuptials were attended by heavyweight like Jimmy Fallon, Jason Bateman, Courteney Cox and Chelsea Handler.

Honeymoon guests stayed at the posh, $1,000-a-night Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. Musgrove was last seen alive in her room around midnight on Aug. 19. An autopsy performed by French authorities later found she had marijuana, cocaine and alcohol in her system.

In addition, a search of her room also produced marijuana and alcohol, as well as "apparent paraphernalia with some type of 'dust.'"

A source later added, "Jen will never be able to think about her honeymoon again without remembering how her friend lost her life. It's now a real nightmare in paradise."

Reports are the family has now hired famed forensic pathologist Dr. Michal Baden to assist on a second autopsy. He has yet to rule on an official cause of death.
