A new Galaxy A7 is being rumored as a powerful device that makes a good alternative to the Galaxy S6 at a mid-range price.

The new Galaxy A7 is likely to include Samsung's own processor and will be more powerful than the first Galaxy A7, Tech Radar reports.

The next Galaxy A7 was first rumored to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, but testing shows it will instead use a Samsung processor. An updated AnTuTu benchmarking test shows the Galaxy A7 will use the Samsung Exynos 7580 processor. This could mean that there are two Galaxy A7's being built.

The Exynos 7580 processor will be an eight-core chip that runs at 1.6 GHz. To help the phone perform, 3 GB of RAM will be included.

According to the testing done on the Exynos 7580 chip, it will perform at about the same level as the Snapdragon 615. The Exynos 7580 ended up with an overall score of 37,563 on the AnTuTu benchmarking test.

The Galaxy A7 looks like a respectable phone with its rumored features. The smartphone is expected to have a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution, 16 GB of internal storage. It will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The camera on the Galaxy A7 will be just 13 megapixels (MP) on the rear and 5 MP for the front-facing camera.

The original Galaxy A7 was much thinner than other Samsung smartphones and also had a 5.5-inch screen. It offered just 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage (expandable to 64 GB with microSD cards). The first Galaxy A7 was designed to be an alternative choice to the Galaxy S5, while the new Galaxy A7 will be an alternative choice to the Galaxy S6.

With fingerprint sensors becoming a standard on almost every smartphone, it would make sense for the new Galaxy A7 to include a fingerprint sensor on the home button.

It is unknown when the next Galaxy A7 will be released, but it should be soon because the Galaxy S7 is quickly approaching its own release.
