Miller Lite Goes Back to Basics with Classic “Steinie” Bottle
Fans of the classic Miller Lite Steinie bottle will no longer have to hit flea markets and antique stores to get ahold of the collectable beer bottle.
Miler has announced that this holiday season, for a limited time, they are bringing back the original 12-ounce Steinie that first entered the market four decades ago.
Miller Lite began the American obsession with low-calorie beer, when they first launched their product in 1975. The company intended to change the industry by introducing a beer with only 96 calories.
A press release indicates that the brewing company wants to connect with their customer base by evoking nostalgia.
“Bringing back the Original Steinie Bottle allows us to share an important part of our history,” senior director of Miller Lite marketing Greg Butler said.
“This time of year is about connecting with friends and family and those moments deserve something special,” he added. “The Steinie bottle allows us to deliver our great beer in a special package that is perfect for these occasions.”
The Original Steinie Bottles will be available nationwide immediately and through December, while supplies last.
The response so far has been positive.
Musician Jon Simmons praised the new bottle on Twitter.
The new Miller lite bottles are sickkkk. Miller lite is always killing the game, no surprise there.

Miller Lite also tweeted that customers should buy the beer soon since the new retro bottle may run out due to high demand.

“Having Miller Lite back in its original bottle brings back so many fond memories and marks how far we’ve come with this award-winning beer,” said Manny Manuele, MillerCoors director of brewing quality.
Earlier this month, the company released two short ads for the new retro bottle, including one in Spanish, an attempt to appeal to Latinos.
