Players may have to wait a bit longer as "Deus X: Mankind Divided" extends its release date for another six months.

In an announcement made by David Anfossi, head of Eidos Montreal, he said, "we're confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for turning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards."

That being said, Anfossi also announced the game's new release date on Aug. 23, 2016. Acknowledging the disappointment of fans, who have been waiting for "Deus X: Mankind Divided's" release, he added that they needed to do this in order to avoid compromising the quality of the video game.

More than a month ago, game publisher Square Enix canceled the highly talked about "augmented" pre-orders program after it received negative feedback from players. Featured on GameSpot, the "augmented' pre-order scheme aims to give their fans certain perks such as soundtracks, in-game costumes and extra missions. At one point, they tagged the free and early release of the game to fans who pre-order it online. But what enraged the players was the fact that the catch includes a certain number of global pre-orders in order to proceed with the program.

An announcement made on "Deus Ex's" official Twitter account said, "You asked for this: We are cancelling the 'Augment your Pre-Order' program."

A detailed reason why they have chosen to cancel the program was stated on the Deus Ex Website. Apparently, the distribution of perks and incentives has frustrated some of its fans, prompting the publisher to cease the program. Pre-order incentives have been one of the video game's popular feature, which the publisher has formerly done by choosing the packages themselves and shipping it to different regions. That alone frustrated fans in the process, so this time, they based it on the player's choice of incentives upon pre-ordering.

The latest deal brought more frustration as the perks have been based on global orders, where regions who met the certain number of online orders will get to have the incentives. Square Enix decided to go against it but followed through with the distribution of incentives to whoever pre-orders the game online.
