The "Dark Souls" series may finally end its reign on "Dark Souls 3" after the head of From Software, Hidetaka Miyazaki, revealed that he's finally ready to end and close the book of "Dark Souls."

In his interview on GameSpot, Miyazaki was asked whether "Souls" game such as the "Dark Souls 2," "Bloodborne" and "Scholar of the First Sin" is overly exposed to the franchise. He answered, "I'm considering 'Dark Souls 3' to be the big closure on the series." He also added that he's not the only one who feels that way as the rest of team also aims to move forward and create other quality games.

Apparently, Miyazaki is not at all concerned about what his position on From Software would turn out to be. All he wants is to continue creating challenging games that will surely keep fans satisfied with what they play.

"We're totally fine with seeing more games come out that borrow aspects. Our main focus is keeping game creation fresh for ourselves," Miyazaki reveals.

He also believes that a top-down approach in creating a game concept is not the way to plan a new game genre. Instead, he cites his personal visions of having his own ideas that can be later conceptualized to create a new game genre.

Miyazaki further shares his other interest after revealing that "Dark Souls 3" might be the last from the series. Sorcery and a game based on it has always interested the From Software president. He also specified Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson's adventure game books that draw quite a bit of interest if he's ever to create another game. When asked whether he has something specific that he wants to work on, such as an existing franchise with unlimited budget, he laughed it off without mentioning anything.

Miyazaki, however, revealed that at the moment, he enjoys playing "Hearthstone" from a director's perspective and as a player who genuinely enjoys the game. He said, "The thing that I can enjoy right now on a pure level is 'Hearthstone.'"

"Dark Souls 3" is an action role-playing game from the "Dark Souls" series. It will have its initial release on March 24, 2016 and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
