ZTE has recently updated its Blade series of smartphones with the debut of the X3, X5 and X9 in Russia. PhoneRadar notes that the three new handsets will cover different sectors of the mid-range market.

The most high-end of the lot is the Blade X9 (see photo render here). The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 resolution IPS display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 SoC, complete with an eight-core CPU.

In the memory department, there's 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. It is flanked between a 13-megapixel rear camera and a five-megapixel front-facing unit. The device packs a 3,000 mAh dry cell and also includes a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The five-inch 720p Blade X5 (image here) has the MediaTek MT6735 chipset under the hood, carrying a quad-core CPU. There's 1GB of RAM and 8GB of native storage. The device is equipped with a lower capacity 2,400 mAh battery while its front and back cameras both measure eight megapixels. There's a control toggle below the handset's rear camera. However, It isn't a fingerprint sensor but a shutter button for taking selfies.

The most affordable of the trio is the Blade X3 (click here for photo render). It has the same five-inch 720p display and the same MediaTek MT6735 SoC as the Blade X5. RAM and internal memory is also similar at 1GB and 8GB, respectively. Their main differences are in the batteries and camera combos. The Blade X3 has the highest dry cell capacity of the bunch with a 4,000mAh battery, capable of charging other devices. That said, the device has the least-performing cameras at only eight and two megapixels.

The Blade X9 retails in Russia for ‎₽17,990 or $277 while the X5 and X3 cost ₽10,990 and ₽8,990. That's $169 and $138, respectively. As of the moment, there's still no official word from ZTE regarding the global availability of its three new handsets.

Meanwhile, ZTE smartphone fans in the United Stated can check out the two newly released Axon variants.

Bussiness Wire previously reported that the ZTE Axon and the 64GB Axon Pro carries over the screen size and hardware dimensions of the 32GB Axon Pro, released earlier this year. However, both new handsets feature improved innards based on consumer feedback.

The two new Axons are protected by Corning's antimicrobial glass technology and run Android 5.1.1 straight out the box. Both are available in three color options namely Ion Gold, Chromium Silver and Phthalo Blue.

They can be purchased via ZTE USA's online store or through e-commerce sites like eBay, Amazon and Newegg.
