Rocksteady recently announced a new "Batman: Arkham Knight" DLC. Dubbed as the Community Challenge Pack, the expansion includes content chosen by fans.

The gaming studio sought to know what maps from "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City" fans wanted to add to "Arkham Knight" as predator and combat challenge maps. Over 800 fans have responded through the discussion thread, and Rocksteady has finally decided which maps made the cut.

According to the official "Arkham Knight" forum, the upcoming DLC will include Wayne Manor, the Batcave from Arkham City and the Sanatorium from Arkham Asylum. A total of five maps have been chosen from "Arkham City," with only one coming from "Arkham Asylum." The full rundown is listed below.

Predator

  • Wayne Manor Main Hall (Batman: Arkham City)
  • Batcave (Batman: Arkham City)
  • Sanatorium, Medical Facility (Batman: Arkham Asylum)

Combat

  • Iceberg Lounge (Batman: Arkham City)
  • Crime Alley (Batman: Arkham Knight)
  • Monarch Theatre (Batman: Arkham City)

Rocksteady also shared an image of the Wayne Manor, but it was the only content the gaming studio was willing to reveal as of this time. Presumably, more images and gameplay videos would be shared later on. The Community Challenge Pack also carried a new AR challenge, which was also requested by fans.

"We've been listening to you guys and one of the most interesting ideas the community has had is for an endless survival predator map," said Rocksteady. "We made a prototype and ended up really liking it, so we're bringing it to you in January."

The new DLC will be available for "Arkham Knight" in January 2016. However, the exact release date is not yet announced. It is also unclear if the expansion will be covered by the game's $40 season pass. Rocksteady also said that PC owners will access the Community Challenge Pack slightly earlier than those on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

That said, "Arkham Knight" players from all gaming platform don't have to wait until January for new content. A DLC themed around "Batman v Superman" will start rolling out on Nov. 24. Meanwhile, an expansion based on 2008's "The Dark Knight" will release next month. Head over to GameSpot for a full outline on what to expect.

As for the standalone "Batman: Arkham Knight" game, it garnered a score of 87/100 from MetaCritic and a perfect 5/5 from The Guardian.

"If this is in fact the last Rocksteady-developed Batman game, the series will end on a high note," said game reviewer Dan Stapleton of IGN. "'Arkham Knight' is the biggest Batman game yet, not just in map size, but in the wide range of different types of gameplay, and its collection of characters."
