With all the big reveals this week on AMC's powerhouse series "The Walking Dead" and HBO's equally powerful "Game of Thrones," fans are a bit bewildered and happy at the same time.

According to E! News, the two biggest shows on television right now that happen to be on cable networks have really been torturing their fans here lately with what appeared to be the death of a major character on their respective series.

For "Game of Thrones" fans, the death of Jon Snow was apparently taken as the solid truth. But the timing could not have been better for the show to release a new billboard for Season 6 right in the heart of Times Square, which features the character as the only image on it.

The poster was also released on Twitter, and now fans are all beside themselves with mixed reactions range from happy to cheated.

As of last Sunday, the massive fan base for "The Walking Dead" was also given another huge turn in the Glenn Rhee drama, which showed that the character had indeed survived the attack by slipping under the dumpster and hiding from the Walker horde.

Of course this was also met with the same mixed reactions on social media. Some were happy to finally see that Glenn was alive while others have claimed that the show officially "jumped the shark" by the incident.

Producers of "TWD" also took to Twitter to comically play off their surprise last Sunday and exploited the Jon Snow controversy to a higher extent.

But here is the real question. Are these two shows, which happen to be the biggest shows on television, setting a new theme for what it takes to be successful in a TV series or have they angered their fans to an unreasonable point?

To top that off, there is a character that is coming to "TWD" from the original comic series named Negan. Fans of the comic series know all to well that he is the guy that actually kills Glenn. So when, or if, that does happen, will fans be able to trust that he is really dead or will there be another "Gotcha" moment that they cannot trust?
