After 16 seasons, six mirrorball trophies and two Emmy wins, E! News reported that the famous ballroom dancer may possibly soon retire from the "DWTS" stage. When Derek Hough was asked by a reporter from the publication, he left a hanging answer that may or may not be a good news, especially for the "DWTS" fans.

"I don't know, who knows," the dancer responded on whether he's returning for season 22. "I have to say this isn't a bad way to go out."

It has been a good run for the 30-year-old choreographer as he bagged another win with his partner, Bindi Irwin, during the finale of "DWTS" Season 21. According to a piece he has written for SeattlePI, he said that he was "at peace" and contented with the result of this last competition.

The Utah-born dancer also said that he is more than proud of what Irwin has shown for the entire run and that he is really thankful to share three months with her.

No one could get against the fact that Hough's partner is deserving of the victory. After all, winning is in Irwin's name. According to The Guardian, the 17-year-old daughter of late wildlife expert Stephen Irwin has wowed the crowd with a dance routine that almost left the entire audience with a tear in their eyes.

Together with Hough, the pair danced and got a perfect score of 30.

"I know I gave my best for her and we did our best. The win just made everything so much sweeter. It was the perfect ending to a perfect season," he continued in his piece.

With all the trophies that he got from the reality show, Hough even said he didn't know where else he is going to put his new trophy.

He also shared that he has lost two of his trophies and he doesn't have a clue if they were stolen or just misplaced. Yet, he hinted that he wish for another two in replacement.

"Hopefully? I guess the show can replace them, but I haven't asked them yet," Hough said.

While he didn't give a straight answer as to whether he will come back for season 22, he revealed where he is headed next.

"Next for me is vacation! I am exhausted and I just want to unwind!" Hough added. "I'm still under the weather, so I'm gonna take a few days off to recover before I even think about doing anything else or my next project."
