Battlefield 4 vs. Call of Duty Ghosts: Predator to Make An Appearance in Call of Duty Devastation DLC; Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC Available Now
Call of Duty: Ghosts players may be running for the choppa in Infinity Ward's latest update to the popular first-person shooter.
The developers have strongly hinted that monster movie icon, the Predator, will make an appearance in Call of Duty's upcoming Devastation DLC. A video posted to Instagram shows us a lone, panicked gunman roaming the jungle before a familiar, cloaked figure comes upon him. The clip was posted with the caption, "If it bleeds..." -- a clear reference to the popular 1987 film.
Infinity Ward has already mentioned that the new DLC would feature another menacing character from pop culture. The last DLC, Onslaught, featured the classic horror antagonist, Michael Myers, from John Carpenter's Halloween. Players took control of the axe-wielding killer, stalking opponents on the new multiplayer map, Fog.
Devastation will also feature four new maps, titled Behemoth, Collision, Ruins and Unearthed, as well as a new chapter in the Extinction saga. The new DLC will launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on April 3.
In other news, the briefly delayed Naval Strike DLC is now available for Battlefield 4 Premium players on the Xbox One. Players without Battlefield Premium membership will have to wait an extra two weeks.
Naval Strike features a slew of new maps, weapons and a cool hovercraft vehicle, but the true highlight of the update is the new Carrier Assault mode, which pits teams together as they try to infiltrate and destroy an enemy's carrier from the inside out.
"All that you've come to love with naval warfare in 'Battlefield 4' will be even more intense and fast-paced in 'Battlefield 4 Naval Strike,'" said EA DICE lead gameplay designer Gustav Halling, as reported by International Business Times. "Whether you'll be taking insane shortcuts with your Hovercraft or securing a narrow win in Carrier Assault, it's our ambition that you'll truly enjoy the all-out war in the South China Sea."
EA has also released a new patch for the game, addressing several issues. You can check out the specifics at the link here.
