Mortal Kombat X News: DLC Characters Could Include Wolverine and Others
Mortal Kombat fans have been eager to find out who the next set of playable characters that will be added to Mortal Kombat X will be. Fans have been guessing and trying to get the game's creator to reveal one or more of the characters.
The latest rumors have pointed to the possibilities of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and X-Men's Wolverine making it into the game as playable characters, Ecumenical News reports.
Mortal Kombat X players have been guessing who the new added characters would be since September when the game's developer NetherRealm Studios teased an image with four character silhouettes on it.
The image was related to the next set of downloadable content (DLC) called Kombat Pack 2. Kombat Pack 2 will include at least four new characters, new character skins and a new arena.
Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon regularly interacts with his fans on Twitter. He has not been releasing any secrets about the upcoming DLC, but he did give some hints.
Boon said he did not "want to kill Batman" when he was asked about including the character in the games. That probably means no Gotham heroes in Mortal Kombat X.
After the question was asked about Ninja Turtles, Boon simply said, "No."
The rumor about Wolverine is interesting. The second character in the silhouette image does offer a little bit of resemblance to the shape of Wolverine from X-Men.
In a Steam community forum, players argued over the silhouette image. They said that when the first Kombat Pack was introduced, the silhouette images ended up looking nothing like the characters that were added to the game.
There is still plenty of time left before the next DLC comes out. Mortal Kombat X could decide to use internal characters, or use external characters from movies or comic books. In the first Kombat Pack, Mortal Kombat X introduced Jason Voorhees and Predator, both from movies.
