It is not until the end of 2016 that the Nokia C1 will be launched, but some leaked information about the smartphone have already circulated online.

According to GSM Arena, the Nokia C1 device will be the first from the brand after it was bought by Microsoft. Under the agreement, Nokia is free to release new mobile phones until the last quarter of 2016; after which, Microsoft will continue the brand's quest to stay in the tech market.

The rumor is that the Nokia C1 will bear either a 5.0 or 5.5-inch screen with full HD resolution. The device is also rumored to have two versions -- one that has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage while the other with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

In the camera department, the Nokia C1 is speculated to have an eight-megapixel primary camera with a five-megapixel selfie shooter. However, other reports also suggest that the Nokia C1 may eventually have a 13-megapixel primary camera with the same capacity for the front camera.

If it's any consolation, the alleged Nokia C1 will either run on Android or Windows 10 OS, depending on the user's preference. A new render of the Nokia C1 device has also circulated online, showing a different concept and style. GSM Arena reports that the last of the design being leaked online has been the fourth rumored render of the Nokia C1.

Without any official statement from Nokia or Microsoft, it's really hard to take these rendering seriously as they quite change from time to time. What's reassuring from the Nokia brand is its CEO Rajeev Suri's confirmation that they are actually planning on releasing new smartphones under their name in 2016. That being said, the Finnish brand can and may conceptualize their own mobile phones, but the actual manufacturing of the handsets will not be under Nokia's supervision.

In 2013, Microsoft made the move to acquire Nokia but has never actually integrated any of their products such as software and design to Nokia phones. The latest rumor on the Nokia C1, however, indicates that it might also bear the Windows 10 OS coming from Microsoft.

Foxconn Company is also expected to raise their interest on the production of Nokia phones, considering their apparent presence on the previously released N1 tablet.

Are you looking forward to getting one of Nokia's flagship phones? How much did the brand changed since it merged with Microsoft?
