'Far Cry Primal' Trailer: First Gameplay Footage to Be Unveiled at Game Awards 2015 Alongside 'Quantum Break'
The first gameplay footage of "Far Cry Primal" and "Quantum Break" will be unveiled at The Game Awards 2015 this week.
Producer Geoff Keighley's took to Twitter to reveal what fans can expect from this year's event. Apart from awarding the best titles, unsung video game developers will also be honored. There will be musical performances from Joel Thomas Zimmerman aka "deadmau5" and Scottish electronic band Chvrches.
Keighley also took the opportunity to reveal what 2016 video games will be premiered at the event. Surely enough, "Far Cry Primal" and "Quantum Break" were mentioned.
As of the moment, only certain plot points of the upcoming "Far Cry" sequel have been revealed. The game takes place in the Stone Age and players have to use primitive weapons to survive, such as spears, bows and other era appropriate tools.
Dubbed as a "full-fledged single-player experience," the game is set in 10,000 BC, a time when huge beasts like the woolly mammoth and sabertooth tiger roamed the Earth. Players will take on the role of Takkar, the last known survivor of his hunting group. He must get to a sanctuary called Oros with the sole purpose of staying alive.
"The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game." said creative director Jean-Christophe Guyot via UbiBlog. "Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it's the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself."
On the other end of the spectrum, Keighley announced that the Quantum Break presentation will include an appearance from Shawn Ashmore, who plays the lead protagonist in the Xbox One exclusive. Many will remember Ashmore as Bobby Drake aka "Iceman" in the original X-Men trilogy.
