All sorts of changes are in store for Apple's MacBook computers - both the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro -- especially as the company looks to stay relevant and fresh up against its competitors.

The first order of business for the company seems to be in updating the MacBook Air. After all, many have signaled towards the MacBook Air as one of the main Apple products that has started to lag behind its competition. The most obvious upgrade in store for the Air has to be the Retina screen, which was already late in arriving to the MacBook Pro. Rumors have suggested that this is likely to happen, so it would not be surprising if that were to be the case. On the other hand, Apple could risk falling far behind in the laptop race if it decides to hold off on a retina screen for the Air.

As far as the MacBook Pro is concerned, the retina screen has already been phased in so Apple has explored other areas to improve the flagship laptop. With that being said, the company has had to come up with a plan that would help it phase out the MacBook Pro computers that are not equipped with Retina screen. Rumors are indicating that the company will most likely be discontinuing production and sales of the older MacBook Pro versions in the near future.

In other news related to the MacBook Pro, a new dock has been introduced and it offers an interesting alternative to the usual products and accessories you might find in the Apple store.

"Henge Docks has created the first truly comprehensive docking station solution for Apple's line of notebook computers," the product's website reads. "This means you can quickly, easily and cleanly incorporate your MacBook computer into a desktop setup or your home theater system, so you get the best features of a laptop, desktop and media center PC all from one computer. Henge Docks patent-pending design doesn't require any hardware, software or settings changes to your computer. In fact, every current MacBook is compatible with our system, right from the factory."
