Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Death of Whitney Houston's Daughter Most Searched Yahoo Story of 2015
The mysterious death of Bobbi Kristina Brown rated as the top searched story on all of Yahoo in 2015.
The only daughter born to superstar singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown died under hospice care in late July, some six months after being rushed to a Georgia hospital emergency room after being found face down in the bathtub of the home she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon.
Overall, USA Today reports the other top stories searched on Yahoo during 2015 were the iPhone, Caitlyn Jenner (formerly known as Bruce Jenner), her daughter Kendall Jenner, and the video game Minecraft.
The 22-year-old's death was eerily similar to the fate suffered by her mother, who died a little more than three years before, when she too was found face down in the bathtub of the Beverly Hills hotel where she was staying. Authorities have since revealed Whitney Houston had drugs in her system at the time of her death.
In the case of Bobbi Kristina Brown, police have since launched a criminal probe into the circumstances of her death, with Gordon reported to be the primary suspect. On the night in question, he reportedly gave his girlfriend a "toxic cocktail" that essentially rendered her defenseless.
Gordon has also been slapped with a multimillion wrongful death suit by the conservator of his girlfriend's estate Bedelia Hargrove, alleging that he physically abused and stole from his girlfriend during the time they were together. He has since relocated to Florida and hired famed Casey Anthony attorney Jose Baez to represent him.
Bobbi Kristina Brown has since been buried alongside her mother at a New Jersey cemetery.
Also cracking the Top 10 most searched topics on Yahoo were recently married "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston, reality star Kim Kardashian, singer Katy Perry, martial arts champion Ronda Rousey, and reality star Farrah Abraham.
