Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra's release date news intensified even more after the Japanese tech giant sent out the invites for its event happening next year. Consumer Electronics Show 2016 is all set this January.

According to GizBot, the "Save the Date" invite from Sony revealed that the company will hold its press conference for CES 2016 on Jan. 5, 5 PM in Las Vegas. Accordingly, the visuals of the invitation show various devices such as VR headsets, TV, headsets among others.

A smartphone is also shown in the invite, which automatically sparks rumors of a new smartphone to be launched during the event. Though some rumors noted that it maybe the new flagship device, which is the Sony Xperia Z6, folks from Phone Arena are expecting that it could be something in the line of the Xperia Z5 Ultra.

According to the post, the smartphone is purportedly arriving in various markets beginning March 2016. In support of this, Gizbot cited that with the recent release of Sony flagship trio, the Xperia Z5 Premium, Z5, and Z5 Compact, there's a possibility that Z5 Ultra will be next.

In a related report, MNR Daily noted that Sony's new smarthphones including Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 or the C5 Ultra are now available in the US. They can be purchased via retailers and third-party sellers.

Going back to Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra, aside from release date, tech fans are also curious to know about the smartphone's specs and features.Phone Arena's report noted that it will have "cutting-edge features."

For one, it might be equipped with the hype chipset, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Moreso, it might be paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

As for the display, the Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra might sport a 6.44-inch screen with a 4K resolution, particularly 2160 x 3840 pixels. Other rumored specs for the smartphone are 23 MP rear camera and a high-mAH battery.
