Rihanna's relationship with Drake is obviously inspiring her to be great... she's now on the hunt for more movie projects! But there's one director who better not expect Rihanna to take a role in any of his films: Tyler Perry!

According to The BoomBox, the reason the "Diamonds" singer won't give the Why Did I Get Married? director the time of day is because of the advice she received long ago from the late Whitney Houston. Shortly before her death, the R&B diva told the pop star not to do Tyler Perry movies because they are for "fading black stars, not rising ones."

"Rihanna so respected Whitney because in addition to being one of the biggest pop stars ever, she starred in hit movies such as 'The Bodyguard,'" according to The BoomBox, confirming that Rihanna is contractually obligated to film a movie before 2014 is out.

Indeed, according to Radar Online, Tyler Perry has been trying to get Rihanna to meet with him for over a year. He even offered to build a whole movie around her! But Rihanna isn't having any of it.

In addition to heeding Houston's advice, Rihanna also doesn't feel that any of the roles Tyler would propose for her are suitable for the "image" she's trying to portray. "Although Tyler has been courting Rihanna for a year and a half, hoping to build a movie around her, she has rejected the idea," reports the site. "She's ruling out doing a Tyler Perry-style romantic comedy because she thinks she works better in action roles, playing the tough girl."

Rihanna, as an actress, is probably best known for her role as Petty Officer (GM2) Cora Raikes in her first theatrical feature film Battleship, which was released on May 18, 2012. Loosely based on the game of the same name, both the film and Rihanna's performance received mixed-to-negative reviews; The New York Times said she was "just fine in the rather generic role." She received a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress and, on a more positive note, a Teen Choice Award.
