Hours of planning, shopping and cooking are devoted to the hand-crafted Thanksgiving Day dinner (and subsequent meals for the following few days). For this special meal, many cooks choose to go the traditional route, while others opt for the non-traditional. Numerous famous Latino chefs used social media to share what will be on their tables this Thanksgiving.
This Thanksgiving, celebrity Chef Aarón Sánchez is reflecting on his love for Latin-inspired Thanksgivings and all of the wonderful memories and tasty dishes that come along with this cherished holiday. He also shared his Latin-inspired "Chorizo and Cornbread Stuffing" with Latin Post as part of our exclusive interview.
What does community mean to you?
A true sense of community is more than borrowing a cup of sugar, saying hello or holding the door, it's going the extra mile in a time of need. For East 'Harlemites' who are still reeling from the tragedy of the East Harlem explosion at 116th St./Park Ave on March 12, the community is pulling together to raise funds for displaced families and making sure their voices are heard well beyond the quadrants of their block.
Valentine's Day has a few different names in the Spanish language. Some call it El Día de San Valentin, others call it El Día de los Enamorados, while different romantics refer to it as El Dia del Amor y la Amistad. However you choose to say it, Valentine's Day is a day for Latinos to share their passion. The lovers' holiday is only two days away, and if you still don't know how to spice up the holiday, take some inspiration from the Latino world. The culture's history, food and the right gift can make the 14th your most memorable Día de San Valentin yet.
