In a show of support and presence in its apps, the Facebook team announced the addition of two new emojis to signify that you care. They also revealed Messenger Room, a video-conference tool for up to 50 people.
Apple has gone to great lengths to update its emojis to be more inclusive of a wide variety of skin tones, but most of the standard graphics available still lack Latin flair -- until now. A Latino marketing company took notice of the lack of Latin-flavored emojis in the standard Unicode set, and decided it would be a good way to catch the eyes -- and it hopes, the dollars -- of tech savvy Latinos.
Last year, Apple was put under popular and celebrity pressure to fix its emoji -- the cartoon graphical icons often used in messaging -- and add diversity to the mostly all-white cast of characters (not counting the classic yellow smiley faces, of course). It appears that change is coming soon to the next OS X and iOS updates.
