The U.S. government is thinking of giving people half doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in order to speed up inoculations, a federal official said on Sunday.
Moderna Inc. said Thursday that it is looking forward to having 100 million to 125 million doses of its experimental COVID-19 vaccine ready for the entire globe by the first quarter of 2021.
Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine continued to show promising results as it yielded 94% efficacy and will move forward with an emergency approval request to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Monday.
Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel said on Wednesday that the company's potential COVID-19 vaccine will not be ready for public distribution until spring of next year.
