Puerto Rican stunner Nadine Velazquez is basking in the glow of her starring role in "Ride Along 2" and the film's recent $12 million opening week.

Velazquez joins Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in the film's sequel, starring as renegade Ken Jeong's "ride or die girlfriend" the unorthodox lawman are hoping will lead them to him.

"I play Ken Jeong, aka A.J's girlfriend, and basically he's on the run," Velazquez recently told Latina. "The guys are trying to get to him and are trying to use me but I'm not giving him up very easily so."

Velazquez describes the experience of working with the spirited Hart as amazing. The two previously starred on the "Real Husbands of Hollywood" side by side.

"He's such a huge star now and his personality and work has gotten even better," she said. "He knows who he is, so much more than ever. It's really beautiful.

Overall, "Ride Along 2" is expected to gross $50 million over its four-day weekend opening, slightly above the $48.6 million the film opened at over the same period two years ago.

The plot of the latest version centers around Hart's Ben character heading to Miami with soon-to-be brother-in-law James (Cube) to bring down a drug dealer who's servicing the city of Atlanta.

Despite it's opening box office success, "Ride Along 2" hasn't at all been well received by many critics and has already received a certified rotten by Rotten Tomatoes.

Among its harshest assessments is a Chicago Sun-Times review that opines, "Ride Along 2" is the movie equivalent of a cover band. We've seen it all before, and often in much better films."

A Boston Globe review adds, "You'll have to be satisfied with a modest assortment of energetically comic moments here, because the story sure isn't a reason to catch this encore."
