Cuban-American actor and producer William Levy was arrested Monday night in Weston, Florida, and is currently being held at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, about 45 kilometers (28 miles) north of Miami, according to public records.

Levy, 44, faces two misdemeanor charges: disorderly intoxication in a public place and trespassing on occupied property. He was released Tuesday on bail. The mugshot released by authorities shows the actor looking visibly disheveled, with a graying beard and furrowed expression.

Under Florida law, disorderly intoxication carries a penalty of up to 60 days in jail, while criminal trespass in an occupied structure could lead to a one-year sentence. Both are considered misdemeanor offenses.

The arrest follows a pattern of recent controversy surrounding Levy, particularly involving his former partner, actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez. Police have responded to their Southwest Ranches residence on at least four occasions due to domestic disputes. In one highly publicized incident in April 2024, Gutiérrez accused Levy of pushing their daughter during a heated argument. She has also publicly suggested that the actor struggles with substance abuse, alleging past drug use as part of their ongoing disputes. Bodycam footage from police responding to the 2024 altercation captured the escalating tension between the exes.

Levy was born in Cojímar, Cuba, and migrated to the U.S. as a teenager. He rose to fame through a series of hit Mexican telenovelas, including Cuidado con el ángel, Sortilegio, and La tempestad. In recent years, he's found new audiences on streaming platforms, starring in Café con aroma de mujer (Netflix/Telemundo) and the Spanish adaptation Montecristo (VIX), which he also produced and filmed in Spain.

In 2023, he wrapped production on Arcadia, a Spanish-language series co-starring Paula Echevarría, expected to premiere later this year.

As of now, neither Levy nor his legal team has made any public statements regarding the arrest.
