Miss Colombia Vows Not to Sue Steve Harvey for Miss Universe Mistake
Steve Harvey heard happy news when he recently sat down with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez for the first time since he wrongly momentarily declared her the winner of the Miss Universe pageant.
TMZ reports the talk show host and Colombian stunner openly discussed the screw up and the lawsuits many were predicting were sure to follow.
Gutierrez graciously informed the "Family Feud" host she had no intention of suing him. She added she had decided to forgive him for the mishap. An emotional Harvey openly sobbed throughout the interview and again expressed his heartfelt deepest apologies.
Harvey was finally able to secure a face-to-face with Gutierrez as part of a deal brokered by a NBC producer, leading the beauty star to also appear on the "Today" show and "Telemundo."
The segment with Harvey was part of a two-day special. He also interviewed Miss Philippines, the Miss Universe pageant's true winner, Pia Wurtzbach about the now infamous evening.
At one point, the 58-year-old talk show host asked Gutierrez to be honest about her opinion of his hosting skills. Without skipping a beat, she jokingly responded, "You have to learn how to read cards, because it was on the card. You wanted me to win."
Later, a far more serious Harvey revealed his family received death threats in the wake of the fiasco. As for rumors the entire situation was part of a publicity stunt, Harvey made clear he would never put himself or his family at risk in such a way.
Harvey claimed his kids had been forced to keep a low profile, and people have camped outside of his home since the mishap.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez has remained strong throughout the entire ordeal. She is now rumored to be on the verge of signing endorsement deals with the likes of Burger King and Corona. She is also rumored to be in talks with Victoria Secret execs.
