Verizon does not have plans to resurrect its unlimited data plans offered in the past. Even though AT&T brought back their unlimited data plan, Verizon is not planning the same.

Verizon's unlimited data plan was eliminated back in 2010 and according to the company they do not see it coming back in the future, CNet reports.

Verizon's Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo said "at this point, we are not going to entertain unlimited." Shammo's comments came after the company released its fourth quarter earnings on Thursday.

AT&T Brought Back Unlimited

AT&T might have heard some negative feedback from customers and decided to bring back their unlimited plan to customers who agree to sign up for one of the company's TV services, either U-Verse cable or DirecTV satellite.

AT&T's new TV and wireless deal is a limited-time only promotion and it will not last forever, but AT&T did not announce when it would officially end.

Data is Expensive

Data has increased in prices over the years and wireless carriers have increased their prices on unlimited data plans or eliminated them completely. AT&T and Verizon got rid of unlimited data back in 2010, but many customers stuck with the plan and are grandfathered into it.

Wireless companies now want customers to purchase their data based on how much they think they will use each month. Any overages result in additional fees.

Other Carriers Still Have it

T-Mobile and Sprint still offer unlimited data plans, but are in third and fourth place behind Verizon and AT&T when it comes to customers.

No Future Promotions?

Although most of the wireless companies are fighting back and forth with promotions and deals, Verizon said it will not always match the offers of its competitors.

"Promotions come and go," Shammo said. "We can't react to everything in the marketplace."
