HTC One M10 Might Not Appear at MWC Due to Design Change
The HTC One M10 was widely expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in late February. However, due to some rejected prototypes, designers are going back to work on the smartphone.
Instead of being announced in late February at MWC, the HTC One M10 might not be announced until March and then hit stores in April, Tech Radar reports.
The latest rumor comes from Chinese website itHome. The rumor says that the reason why there was so little known about the HTC One M10 was because the device is not ready yet.
Back to the Drawing Board
Designers have tried to create a prototype that would be accepted and then HTC could move forward with the phone. Unfortunately, those prototypes were sent back to the designers and now they have to keep trying to get a design that will be approved. Since these prototypes were rejected, the phone had to be delayed.
HTC seems like they want the One M10 to be a different phone than the One M9. The company may be looking at a completely different look for the phone, and that could be exciting for those who thought that the One M9 lacked a unique design.
Specs Improve
The One M10 will definitely make internal improvements. The phone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, which is not surprising because almost all flagship phones in 2016 are expected to use this chip. The camera on the One M10 could be 23 megapixels (MP). The battery inside the phone is expected to be enlarged to 3,000 mAh from the 2,840 mAh battery that was used in the One M9.
The Chinese website also predicts a fingerprint sensor will be found in the One M10. This would be similar to the fingerprint sensor offered in the One M9.
A water resistant rating is expected that would allow the phone to be dunked in water and still work.
All of the excitement for MWC is surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S7. If the HTC One M10 misses MWC, it could be damaging to sales of the phone.
