HTC One M10 Release Date, News: Flagship Phone Will See Many Improvements on One M9
HTC wants to make the next One phone much better than the One M9 but to do this, the company needs to include premium specifications.
The HTC One M10 is expected to follow the same release date as the One M9 and be released around the same time as the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, TechRadar reports. This means an annoucement sometime in March 2016.
HTC has plenty of competition from other smartphones. Samsung will likely release its next Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S7, slightly before HTC releases the One M10. Additionally, LG is expected to upgrade the LG G4 to the LG G5.
HTC's CEO Cher Wang said that the company wants to make significant improvements to the next One smartphone.
HTC could join other smartphones by offering wireless charging. This is a feature that is missing from the One M9, and a popular capability that customers find convenient. In order to support wireless charging the body of the HTC One M10 would have to change from all-metal to another material.
The HTC One M10 will definitely increase in power due to a processor upgrade. The One M10 will step up the processor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a chip that many of the newest phones are set to use in 2016.
The screen should get an upgrade as well. Many premium smartphones are using QHD displays and it would make sense for the One M10 to make the upgrade to the sharp screen as well.
Battery life was lacking in the HTC One M9, so a bigger and more efficient battery is definitely something that HTC should focus on.
The HTC One M10 also needs to find a way to compete with the powerful cameras in the Galaxy S6 and the LG G4. The One M9's 20 megapixel (MP) camera made by Sony was rather unimpressive.
The HTC One M10 is expected to cost at least $600 when it is released.
