WWE Raw Preview, Spoilers for April 28, 2014: Hugh Jackman Returns to Raw With Extreme Rules on Sunday
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star Hugh Jackman -- an unabashed member of the WWE Universe -- chose a strange week to return to "Raw" with WWE Extreme Rules less than a week away.
Ziggler has welcomed Jackman back to the WWE with open arms, putting differences asides after the Hollywood and Broadway star punched Ziggler in his face during his previous appearance on "Raw" in 2011. But now, Damien Sandow wants a piece of Jackman, with both Ziggler and Jackman responding over Twitter that they will show Sandow the definition of respect this week. What do Ziggler and Jackman have in store for "The Intellectual Savior of the Unwashed Masses" after the back-and-forth on social media?
Rob Van Dam and "Bad News" Wade Barrett will face off Monday night as the finalists in the tournament to see who faces Big E for the Intercontinental Championship at "Extreme Rules." RVD defeated Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro to reach the finals while Barrett went through Ziggler and Sheamus to earn his spot. Will Barrett deliver bad news to "Mr. Monday Night" or will Van Dam continue his roll since returning to the WWE?
The team of Ryback and Curtis Axel have been awarded a shot at the Usos' WWE Tag Team Championship at "Extreme Rules" after "Friday Night Smackdown" went off the air. The Usos have been in a bit of slump with Ryback having defeated Jimmy Uso in a singles bout on "WWE Main Event" and Curtis Axel pinning Jey Uso on "SmackDown" this last Friday night. Have the challengers gotten into the Usos' heads as the siblings prepare to defend their tag team titles?
The Shield lived up to their "Hounds of Justice" moniker, tearing through the WWE roster last Friday night, after WWE COO and Evolution leader Triple H threw down his "adapt or perish" challenge last Monday night. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and United States Champion Dean Ambrose have proven they can adapt, but what will Evolution (Triple H, Batista, and Randy Orton) have in store for The Shield with their fourth member, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair -- the dirtiest player in the game -- set to return to "Monday Night Raw?"
WWE Director of Operations Kane returned to his demonic roots, putting the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in a world of hurt with three Tombstone Piledrivers last week -- one on the floor, one on the steel steps, and one on the announcer's table -- that sent him to the hospital. The champion has vowed to defend his title at "Extreme Rules" and gain some revenge against his former tag team partner, but how will he handle a monster set loose and destroying with complete impunity, with Stephanie McMahon's and The Authority's blessing?
TV Schedule
WWE "Monday Night Raw" airs at 8 p.m. EST Monday on the USA Network with the "WWE Pre-Show" and "WWE Backstage Pass" airing on the WWE Network.
