Vanessa Hudgens Plays Prostitute, Strips and Pole Dances In New Movie 'Frozen Ground' [TRAILER]
Vanessa Hudgens has already gained fame when she stripped for the camera several years ago in what she thought was a private self-pic. Those pictures soon went viral, and her new movie may soon follow suit.
In "Frozen Ground," Hudgens plays a prostitute who helps a detective in his attempt to solve a rash of murders that have hit Alaska. She also has no problem stripping for the camera once again, though this time around the final result is far more premeditated.
The movie is based around the real-life case of serial killer Robert Hansen, who murdered between 17 and 21 women near Anchorage, Alaska in the early 1980s. As the folks at Lionsgate describe, the movie chronicles those tense years in Anchorage, a time when nobody knew just whom to trust:
"Frozen Ground follows Alaskan detective Glenn Flothe as he sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen, a serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. As the bodies of street girls start to add up in Anchorage, fear strikes a chord with the public...When a seventeen year old escapee (Hudgens) reveals key information about the case, Flothe is finally able to trail the killer. But will he catch him in time to save the next victim?"
Nicholas Cage plays State Trooper Jack Halcombe (based on Detective Flothe) in the new movie, with John Cusack playing opposite him and looking eerily similar to the serial killer Hansen. Hudgens plays Cindy Paulson, the woman who would eventually break open the case.
In the real life case of Robert Hansen, Paulson escaped his grasp after a harrowing ordeal and just before he planned on killing her. She was eventually able to get in contact with the authorities, who consequently began an investigation of Hansen leading to his arrest. In the movie, it appears that the bulk of the drama will be based on the investigation, as Hansen threatens to kill the only witness to his crimes.
"Frozen Ground" is set to debut Aug. 23. It is written and directed by Scott Walker, and oddly enough, produced by 50 Cent, among others. The rapper also acts in the film, playing the role of the pimp Clate Johnson. Let us know what you think of the trailer below.
