Sherlock Season 4 Spoilers
Sherlock Holmes is likely to lose his mind in the next installment of “Sherlock” as he continues to fight off villains James Moriarty (Andrew Scott) and Culverton Smith (Toby Jones). The peculiar character tries to fit in, but continues to keep his distance from others.
“He (Sherlock) becomes more human and more adept at fitting in with a lot of people, but he remains separate from the human race because he finds that’s a better place to observe them from,” show co-creator Steven Moffat told Collider. “He stays on the mountain top because there, he can see clearly.”
Co-creator Mark Gatiss remains tight lipped about details but he hinted that Dr. Watson will remain Holmes’ only friend and he is the only one that Holmes can really count on.
Will there be a battle that Holmes cannot win? In the “Sherlock” Season 4 trailer, we see Holmes being chased, shooting at people and possibly being haunted by demons from the past.
“Everyone they know is under threat,” the caption reads before a hospital scene.
What is Holmes next move?
Sherlock Loses His Mind
Cumberbatch says that Sherlock will lose his mind because Moriarty will be on his conscious.
“I think it’s the first time he really meets his match, and it’s scarred him,” Cumberbatch says. “It’s a nemesis, and nemeses play large in your psychology. They’re not just physical entities who are actually present. It’s about the fear of them...He’s terrorized Sherlock’s mind. It’s fear that lives on.”
Will Sherlock learn to stop being afraid of the villain and beat him at his own game?
Mary in Sherlock Season 4
Mary Watson (Amanda Abbington) is likely to betray Watson and Holmes in the next installment of “Sherlock.” She is an assassin who was after Holmes all along and her true identity will be revealed.
