COVID-19 Strikes in Mexico Leaving 12 Dead
On Friday the ministry of health confirmed that there are 717 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Mexico, 132 cases more than reported on March 26. Coronavirus, which is a deadly virus, concentrates on people ages 55 years old and above.
The beginning of the coronavirus pandemic was officially declared in Mexico this Tuesday. Mexico is now on its second phase which means that there are already transmission of local and not only form foreign cases unlike in the phase one. Non-essential work and companies were sent home earlier by the federal government, they also ask that companies might have arrangements to make workers work from home remotely. Estimation of the pandemic in Mexico might last from the months of August and September.
"Sana Distancia" or healthy distance program have guidelines that should be followed to prevent the spreading of corona virus among the population of Mexico. Also by staying at home, the contagious disease might be lowered and it can further stop the escalation. If people will stay at home they are going to help themselves and they are going to help the people.
Medical health officials also detected that smoking or smokers are the biggest risk factors in containing the coronavirus. Some risk factors also include asthma, obesity and diabetes, those factors are commonly found with the corona virus patients.

Among the patients, men are mostly infected compared to women having 57% are male and 43% are female. The patients' percentage are: 11% have been hospitalized, 89% were from the outpatient department. In the hospital, stable patients are 63% and 30% are found to have severe cases and 7% of the patients only require hospitalization.
Because it was found out that there was a rapid case of spreading of the corona virus in Mexico the government was led to a quarantine choice. Preventive measures such as social distancing and cancellation or suspension of classes were also imposed to avoid local transmission and to flatten the curve of the virus. The government also imposed the program National Day of Healthy Distance to avoid acquiring the virus.
General Health Law also explained that quarantine means that healthy people have limitations in socializing with other people to avoid the transmission of any communicable diseases that may be acquired by another person. It is also strictly imposed to control the number of transmission of the said communicable disease.
Quarantine may also have a 40 day period but the days still vary for the reasons that are given by the health government.
The Federal government in Mexico took actions in the implementation of the National Day of Healthy Distance that started on March 23, 2020. Suspension of all classes from the base, middle up to the higher education were also strictly imposed to avoid transmitting of the virus from one to another.
As stated by the National Day of Healthy Distance the quarantine in Mexico will start from March 23 up to April 19, 2020. The World Health Organization or WHO also suggests that if anyone suffers the symptoms of coronavirus like fever, cough and difficulty of breathing is best to seek the help of medical professionals.
